About The Founders
We are a family-owned business that is passionate about creating unforgettable experiences for our guests. Our story began with our family’s annual tradition of renting cottages north of the Greater Toronto Area. We cherish the memories we made there and the connections we formed with the community.
In 2005, our parents took a leap of faith and purchased a cottage in Haliburton, where we spent the next 11 years creating more cherished memories. In 2016, we purchased our own cottage (Cedars East) but faced the challenge of affording the mortgage and bill payments. We brainstormed and came up with a plan to rent out the cottage to help with funds, which led to the birth of The Cedars Haliburton!
With the help of our family, we purchased the lot next door in 2018, and leveraged our savings to build on the lot (Cedars West). We also built a fitness studio on the existing property. This led us to create a new concept outside of just short term rentals. We believe that wellness in nature is a gift and can now bring that to our guests even more. We feature a hot yoga compatible fitness studio overlooking the lake.
We are now able to give back to the community in the same way that others have given to us. To be able to share these spaces with others to rejuvenate in nature is a true gift.

Cedars East
Modern rustic luxury awaits in this cedar lined chalet. If you want to book our hot yoga studio also, the separate 500 sq ft space is on the Cedars East side. It’s perfectly suitable for yoga, hot yoga, Pilates, meditation, spa services, stretching or meetings. Whatever your preferred activity, you’ll have beautiful lakeside accommodations to complement your stay. Studio is an extra add on.
Cedars West
Nearby Cedars West is our latest addition to the properties, boasting even more space for visitors including an expansive deck. When playing host to an extended family getaway, you’ll have the lodgings to accommodate everyone in style. A large eat in kitchen and expansive lake views. Lower level games room and tv area with additional sleeping. Dual sided fireplace, premium linens and a back up generator!
